报告人简介：

Soibelman教授是现任美国土木工程师协会旗下Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering期刊的主编。他的研究领域集中在建筑工程领域数据的获取、管理、可视化、以及深度挖掘的方法。

Professor Lucio Soibelman is the Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at theUniversity of Southern California. Professor Soibelman obtained his PhD in 1998 in Civil Engineering Systems from the Civiland Environmental Engineering Department at the MIT. Before he joined USC in 2012, he worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and Carnegie Mellon University.

During the last 15 years he focused his research on advanceddata acquisition, management, visualization, and mining for construction andoperations of advanced infrastructure systems. He published over 100 books, books chapters, journal papers, conference articles, and reports and performed research with funding from NSF, NASA, DOE, US Army and many others funding agencies. He is the current chief editor of ASCE’s journal of Computing inCivil Engineering. In 2010 he received the ASCE Computing in Civil Engineering Award, in 2012 received the 2011 FIATECH Outstanding Researcher Celebration of Engineering & Technology Innovation Award, and in 2013 he was elected an ASCE fellow.

Duringthe last few years he has been collaborating with ADEPT to provide consulting serviceson BIM implementation to several large construction companies in Brazil.

Professor Soibelman’s areas of interest include the use of information technology for economic development, information technology support for construction management, process integration during the development of large-scale engineering systems, information logistics, artificial intelligence, data mining, knowledge discovery, image reasoning, text mining, machine learning, advanced infrastructure systems, sensors, streaming data, and multi-reasoning mechanisms.
